Cleaning House on my Facebook Account

Unfortunately, I had to clean out some various groups and friends on my Facebook account. The reason is as an advocate for a sensible cannabis reform I do not want to be associated with people who give me the impression of being irresponsible in their use of cannabis. Don't get me wrong I'm all for people having the right to decide on what recreational product they consume. I have a problem with the people who give me the impression that anytime or place is acceptable. It is these people who are in my opinion the examples that is being used by the government in their continued Reefer Madness Propaganda program. It's a matter of being recognized as a reasonably respectable and responsible consumer of cannabis.

Now then some of the groups have been archived and no longer exist. So they are being deleted. I have also deleted the listed of groups that show music videos all the time, just as the people who keep flooding my wall with these videos have been deleted or hidden. I'm not interested in them, this account is for news and freewill living concepts. I don't do apps or play games with this account either. There are a few moderated groups I belong to that I believe to be overly moderated. I don't know if I will continue to stay with that group for long.

Welcome to America

Welcome to America,
home to 5% of the world's people
25% of the world's prisoners,
51% of these prisoners are for non-violent drug offenses.

Two recent local news stories I find of interest to this. Some people didn't seem to like my solution to the problem.

EZ Mart robbery and shooting

Father and son arrested for stealing trailers

Now I have a copy and paste campaign going for these stories.
It includes one of these prepared notes I keep on a notepad of my computer.

Here's a thought to consider:
We have a problem with SUBSTANCE ABUSE, both legal and illegal substances. Why don't we quit wasting our money on enforcing this failed policy? So far we have been fighting this WAR ON DRUGS for 40 years. Now I'm not a genius by no means, but I'd have to say this battle will not be won with threats of fines and/or incarcerations.

Instead of continuing to fight an unbeatable enemy, let's do something constructive with that money. Let's start by HIRING MORE POLICE TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE AND THEIR PROPERTY from the violent criminals who show no remorse or respect for people's lives and property.

Now we also waste money on the prosecuting and incarceration of non-violent drug offenders. How about we stop that? Save that money and focus on using it for the violent criminals, for some reason we can't seem to get them off the streets and keep them locked. Well, doing this we will have the necessary space in the jails and prisons so they can serve their full sentence without parole or early release for good behavior.

Now see how easy that is, and all it took was changing perspectives of our prohibition policy, that's success can only be measured by it's FAILURE.

Or this:

Just think of the billions of dollars spent every year in promoting the failed prohibition laws that persecute, prosecute, and incarcerate non-violent cannabis (commonly referred to as marijuana) users under the claim of protecting the people from themselves.
Sorry, I don't need or want anyone to protect me from myself to that extent, this is overstepping the boundaries of your moral responsibility to the people. Your obligation as far as I'm concerned is to make recommendations or suggestions.
What we need and want is a police force and justice system that protects us from violent people who show no remorse in taking the lives of others. The money wasted on this failed policy would go along way towards putting a stop to these acts of violence.
The DEA claims that cannabis (marijuana) has a high potential of abuse, well so does alcohol and firearms. People aren't treated as criminals until after they injure or kill someone abusing alcohol and firearms.
So how can we continue to claim to have a fair system of justice?

Now, most of the people who comment on these call me an idiot or a pothead. No big deal for me, I'm not the one who is ignoring the problems this nation is facing. I also don't see anyone else posting any competent or even reasonable solution to the problems of crime.
I am questioning the concept of what is a crime, and how we should punish the people. The substance abuse problem we have is a health and social issue, not a criminal offense.
We are human and tend to make mistakes in life, if we choose to use substances and we don't use the knowledge and information available then that's our own mistakes. We know some people are more susceptible to abuse of these substances differently and you shouldn't be treated as a criminal for the use unless your abuse is associated with an injury or death.

Principles of Responsible Cannabis Use

Thanks, goes to the people at NORML for this concept.

When cannabis(marijuana) is enjoyed responsibly, subjecting users to harsh criminal and civil penalties provides no public benefit and causes terrible injustices. For reasons of public safety, public health, economics and justice, the prohibition laws should be repealed to the extent that they criminalize responsible cannabis use.
By adoption of this statement, the NORML Board of Directors has attempted to define "responsible cannabis use."

Many things and activities are suitable for young people, but others absolutely are not. Children do not drive cars, enter into contracts, or marry, and they must not use drugs. As it is unrealistic to demand lifetime abstinence from cars, contracts and marriage, however, it is unrealistic to expect lifetime abstinence from all intoxicants, including alcohol. Rather, our expectation and hope for young people is that they grow up to be responsible adults. Our obligation to them is to demonstrate what that means.

Although cannabis is said by most experts to be safer than alcohol and many prescription drugs with motorists, responsible cannabis consumers never operate motor vehicles in an impaired condition. Public safety demands not only that impaired drivers be taken off the road, but that objective measures of impairment be developed and used, rather than chemical testing.

"Set" refers to the consumer's values, attitudes, experience and personality, and "setting" means the consumer's physical and social circumstances. The responsible cannabis consumer will be vigilant as to conditions -- time, place, mood, etc. -- and does not hesitate to say "no" when those conditions are not conducive to a safe, pleasant and/or productive experience.

Abuse means harm. Some cannabis use is harmful; most is not. That which is harmful should be discouraged; that which is not need not be.
Wars have been waged in the name of eradicating "drug abuse", but instead of focusing on abuse, enforcement measures have been diluted by targeting all drug use, whether abusive or not. If cannabis abuse is to be targeted, it is essential that clear standards be developed to identify it.

No one may violate the rights of others, and no substance use excuses any such violation. Regardless of the legal status of cannabis, responsible users will adhere to emerging tobacco smoking protocols in public and private places.

The DEA and redeploying their services.

The Drug Enforcement Agency (commonly known as DEA) we have an unknown number of people employed by this government agency. They are suppose to be working for the people, not working for someone elses idea of what people should be. They are there and have been responsible for the defamation of character of so many good people with their continued effort to control the concept of what is acceptable. What is acceptable is of a personal nature and is up to the individual to discover for themselves. We are essentially different in all aspects of our lives. From our personal beliefs and opinions, desires and needs, and science has proven we are different in how we each react with what we consume.

So, we have to look at the products (alcohol, over the counter and prescription drugs) our government has claimed the responsibility of approving as the legal options for all the people. By claiming these products as the only legal options they are in fact stating these items are the right choice for everyone. Well, considering the amount of damages, number of deaths, the health problems, and social issues associated with them, you don't have to be a genius to see these aren't the right choices for some of the people. So I have to wonder how it's right to use threats of fines and/or incarceration in an attempt to intimidate people into believing cannabis is wrong for everyone to consume. There has been no known evidence it's wrong for all the people, just that it's the wrong for some people. Apparently this little fact is difficult for some to comprehend.

I know some people will not like this concept, but it's time to change our perspective and tactics.
So on with the decriminalizing of the illicit drugs as they are called by our government, who we employ.

Now to redeploy our employees to be of better use to the government and people of this nation. First, they are already in place so there won't be a need to relocate anyone or put more people in the unemployment line, we are just changing the status of their employment by focusing it in a different direction. Second, the direction is to save valuable revenue and to acquire more revenue in an acceptable fashion that doesn't dig into the taxpayers pockets that are stretched to their limits already.

This starts with those at the borders, they will continue to search for smuggled products. These officers will also be in charge of collecting the tariffs on the drugs coming in, if the drug cartels want to continue sending the drugs that are so profitable to them into the USA they have to pay a tariff this will cover the expenses of rehab clinics. Now we all know there will be those who attempt to smuggle drugs, they get one chance to declare them after that if they are found to be smuggling well all I can say is they've lost their drugs to the DEA who in turn have a list of people authorized to sell drugs in the USA. These retailers collect taxes but they are also able to bid on confiscated drugs.

There should be two levels of retailers one for cannabis, and another for cocaine and meth. With all the cocaine and meth coming into the states from Mexico these agents will need to conduct test for quality. The cocaine and meth being the primary concern for testing, but because of some questionable practices in the drug trade they should conduct testing on cannabis also. Me, personally I don't want my cannabis laced with anything, but I don't want people consuming poison that may kill them either. (I can't fathom why anyone would want to consume coke or meth, I just know some people are more susceptible to using them than other people are.)  We do know enough about the harsher drugs and in testing the quality should be able to verify that they are in fact a safer form of poison.

As for the cannabis, again authorized retailers the same as with alcohol. One, there are people too lazy to grow their own and they would rather pay for it. You don't have to have a permit to make your own alcohol so don't expect me to pay for the right of growing my own. Two, it will be an additional tax base for the communities that are strapped for money. Three, it will stop the wasting of money in our courts, which can be used to raise the salaries of our officers. Plus saving space in the jails for the more dangerous and violent criminals.

And yes, common sense will tell you that people will abuse these drugs, look at the history of mankind we can't seem to stop our abusing nature. The amount of abuse will not be known for a few years but, I'm betting that by changing perspectives of drug abuse there will be less of it, along with more responsible users. People like choices and they really prefer to discover for themselves what is right for themselves individually. What's right for some the people isn't always right for all the people. Just remember more people die a year from eating peanuts than they do from consuming cannabis.

Mixed Reactions

Let's look at what is causing this for me.

Then let's add this from Facebook if you can read the comments, Medical marijuana legalization underway in Arkansas.

Now, being in the so-called bible belt as so many claim. I have a problem with those who keep trying to impose upon me their concept of what a Christian is.

First, if as they claim to believe God created all living things including the plants. It is my belief that by eradicating the cannabis and hemp plant we are saying God is an idiot who had no clue as to what he was doing. And therefore have placed ourselves above God and creation, that doesn't set well with me. This is the same as lying to yourself about the trust you have in God. So, why should I actually trust these people?

Second, God created us to be individually different. It is said he will provide for us what we need to survive. This does not mean he will provide for everyone in the same way. His provisions include the plants and animals we need to sustain life, the mind to discover and learn new things. This is why some claim us to be the superior intelligence on this world. Well if we are, why is it we are being led to ignore the knowledge and information of past generations?

Third, of all people who should be fighting for the decriminalization and legalization of cannabis and hemp, it should be the very same people who claim to believe in and trust God for providing us with such a beneficial plant. The uses of these plants have been tested through out history and time. They have provided us with a source of nutrition, fiber for clothing and paper, a source of fuel, and as medicine for a fairly large number of health problems. How can we continue to overlook the possibilities?

Forth, we have people who claim to use cannabis as a sacramental part of their religion. There are some who state these people only use it as an excuse to get high. I haven't made my mind up on that thought, but I am not doubting it either. There have been cases of people who have proven to use the name of God for their own personal gains, this also doesn't set well with me. Yet, there is evidence that ties the use of cannabis to ceremonies of long extinct people. Should we just ignore this? Who really has the final say as to an individuals religious beliefs?

Now on to the individual differences of people.
As I have mentioned before we are all equally and individually different from one another. Each one of us has different beliefs and opinions, desires and needs, and also science (being the educational tool that it is) has taught us that we also react individually different to what we consume. Read my Peanut Theory for a little more of my thoughts on this subject.

I'm A Realist.

Where to begin at.
Yes, Clementine we have a drug problem in this country. From my point of view the present policies of prohibition have failed in doing what they were intended to do, and can be considered directly responsible for causing a lot of our drug problems. We actually have laws that go to extremes, there is to much control on some substances and not enough control on others.
I find it disturbing that the products we are able to legally possess and consume are by far more dangerous to the people than those that are classified as illegal. Yes, we even have a problem with people abusing the legal products.
Now the reports all vary, some even hype the situation to their side of the argument to look better for their own agenda.
We have reports of any where from
150,000-300,000 prescription drug related deaths
65,000-150,000 alcohol related deaths
100,000+ plus reports of people being mentally and physically abused by some one under the influence of alcohol
millions of dollars worth of property damages from alcohol abuse
35,000 illicit drug related deaths
less than 10,000 deaths due to drug related violence (I call it prohibition related violence)

Our government collects millions in the form of license, permit, and taxes from the alcohol industry, which by the way is the most widely recognised legal mind altering recreational product available to all the people. If the reports I have read are correct, it's apparently not the right choice for some people.
If I understand what I have read about the FDA half of their funding is provided by the pharmaceutical companies, and if the pharmaceutical companies were to have their way the taxpayers may end up paying more if not all of what the FDA needs to operate.

And to me this is even more disturbing, because not only do I consider this a conflict of interest, but I can not hold our elected officials responsible for any health problems or death of a family member who has died while abiding by the law.
It take a class action lawsuit to get any money from the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture the products we have been informed of being the right choice for everyone. But then that money is piddily doo after the lawyers get their share.

Then to make matters worse our government due to lack of respect spend billions on prohibiting the use of drugs and alcohol they don't approve of. Yes, they still chase after moonshiners only not as vigorous as they do drug dealers.

So you ask how can we justify the spending of billions on policies that have only succeeded in failing?
Or how can we continue to enforce prohibition policies when we can't even stop the abuses of the legal products?

The officer in this article stated the confiscated money will be used for training and equipment and the dealers they busted are paying for it, what they seem to forget is that their tax dollars are helping pay for the incarceration and upkeep on these people. So who is actually being punished.

Who can claim what is to be considered as abuse? Every one is affected differently by what they consume, there are people who can handled alcohol better than others while there are some who can't and it should be a crime for them to drink it.

Interesting week in Arkansas

I have been slightly busy these last couple of weeks with work showing signs of picking up and some of my own much needed home repairs taking up some time, it feels good to get back here to rant.
First, there were a few drug bust mainly involving meth, I really don't care if some one wants to fry their brains with that trash as long as they can be responsible users and they show some respect for others. Of those busts some were charged with intent to distribute, I pretty well compare that to the pharmaceutical companies who have influenced the government to approve the drugs they developed as safe, while knowing they are not as safe as they are implied to be.
Doctors are licensed to practice medicine, but we are the ones paying to participate in the chemical testing for profit.
I personally do not use any over the counter medications or prescription drugs.
1)I believe they violate the laws of God and nature, after all God in his wisdom has provided us with natural organic products to sustain our lives.
2)I believe as a consumer I should have the final say as to what extent I will accept, tolerate, and trust the advances of modern medical science.
3)If our elected officials are so adamantly sure they are right in their opinion as to what is to be acceptable then it shouldn't take a court of law to hold them accountable for that opinion or any damages and deaths associated with the products they claim to be the right choice and only choice for all people.

Second, a federal judge has issued a stay of execution for a convicted murderer, this is not closure for the family of his victim, I am conflicted about capitol punishment on one hand I think he deserves to die, on the other I think the worst punishment he could get is complete solitary confinement with no contact of any kind including his own family, no books, tv, exercise, he can sleep on the floor like an animal. This will put him in a position to think about his actions, and will most likely drive him insane.

Third, let's not forget the federal indictment of 31 people for questioning of a suspected drug trafficking ring. No charges were filed against any of these people at this time, so I am guessing that the feds hope that someone will incriminate themselves through this intimidation tactic.

Yes, this war on drugs is killing a lot of people. Might want to take a good look at the success of Portugal's policy.

I have to question why the only people dying from what I call a war on marijuana, are sometimes innocent bystanders? But, for the most part it's drug cartel members, or law enforcement officers and politicians.

Plastic trash collection: Study finds high concentration in Atlantic - todaysthv.com | KTHV | Little Rock, AR

This is an interesting read that confirmed a past theory I had.

First, a little a history. My first real job was sacking groceries at an Air Force base commissary. I remember the glass jars the food was packaged in, also we used paper bags for carrying groceries in. I mention these 2 items specifically, the modern miracle plastics we were informed of as being a more environmentally friendly product isn't. These plastics have not only replaced perfectly environmentally friendly products but both were biodegradable to some degree, they succeeded in proving not all ideas or opinions work as expected. To be perfectly honest I thought the idea behind plastics back then was a big scam and now I am sure it is and was one of the worst ideas we ever accepted.

We have (as the so called superior intelligent) pretty much built 2 floating islands of trash on both sides of our country. And no I am not saying our country did this in some ways every country had a hand in it, but according to a study I read a few years back (GUESS WHAT) we Americans are (not surprisingly) the most wasteful nations in the world. We produce more trash than any others, and I'm not quite sure but I thought it said we produced more trash than the other countries combined. In some different articles I have read through the years, I have noticed that most of the other countries citizens tend to practice the use of common sense. In other words if it's not practical it's not necessary, so why bother with it?

So we look around at our trash try to figure out how to stop it, and clean it up. As I said we claim to be the superior intelligent beings, as an industrialized nation we try to thrive on the possible advances in science and technology. Which is not a bad thing, but let's not forget the past or our accomplishments. If new and improved doesn't work then we need to step back in time to tried and true methods that did work.

Paper or Plastic? I have to say I prefer paper bags, it is a more biodegradable product by far, making it a more environmentally friendly product. Plus they are a lot more sturdier than those damn plastics bags I keep acquiring. I can put 3-4 wally world bags of products in 1 paper bag and take up less room in my truck.
Plastic bags have succeeded in proving that they are not as recyclable as we were imposed upon to believe. They are a complete inconvenience and waste of precious resources.

Take good old Henry Ford, you know the father of Ford Motors, he used a hemp based plastic in the manufacturing of his cars, he also encourage the continued existence of hemp as a viable source of plastics. I have also read the first cars were optionally run on petroleum based fuel or an ethanol based fuel, ethanol fuel has been proven to burn cleaner, gets good fuel mileage and possibly extend the life of your cars motor. I have wondered what has happened to these plastics Henry used in his cars, I can imagine some are still in original mint condition, while others in the test of time has degraded to dust with no real harm to nature as they should.

So we know industrial hemp can be used to make quite a variety of products. Such as the paper we use in our everyday lives, it can if taken care of properly with stand the process of time, but at the same time is equally and easily a biodegradable, environmentally friendly paper. An additional plus of this is that hemp is easily renewable. 1 acre of hemp can produce as much paper products as 4 acres of timber while using less chemicals in the processing. With this knowledge available to us why are we still destroying our forest for paper and other products that can be replaced by hemp.

We have farmers as you know who are losing their farms, what if farmers were to raise hemp and be able to convert it for fuel in his farming equipment, this would save them no telling how much money on foreign petroleum products. They can also raise enough to possibly supply different industries that can revitalize our economy. There is also the idea that hemp itself can as it grows cleanse the soil for the next crop to be planted, it's suspected of being able to draw the chemical out of the ground without needing any other source of nutrients.

Look at the building industry, it is diminishing due to a lack of affordable products to use, timber industry has been hurt the most by this. We have a high demand for it but limited amounts available. The tree planting projects by different groups aren't keeping up with the demand, so to me it's only logical to remember our founding fathers and beyond our nation's beginnings.

OK on to more thoughts, hemp can produce some of the finest cloth, and the strongest ropes which is not affected by the salts in the oceans, these products like paper with proper care can last a long time, and at the same time they also accomplish being biodegradable with out endangering the environment.

We know all this and yet I can't help but feel like I'm being imposed on and intimidated to ignore our history as a race of beings and a nation. Are you afraid to step back in time to accept the past as it was? Are you ashamed to admit that not all advances are actually advances? A little news flash there's nothing to be ashamed of it's called life. LIFE = TRIAL AND ERRORS discovering what works for you as an individual but at the same time having enough respect for others to admit it maybe the wrong path.

Drug Abuse Resistance Education

What is an education worth if this program continues to intentionally mislead and misinform the public? If it continues to influence the children to ignore basic common sense, the history of mankind, the sciences that prove we are all different in every aspect of life? Including the fact the fact that each person is affected differently by what we consume?

hemp

hemp

This has some interesting amount of history which I consider a very educational reading requirement.

I have an idea that if industrial cannabis is relegalized that a lot of economical and environmental issuses can be solved.

Years ago Arkansas passed a bill to allow for the legalized study of industrial cannabis (HEMP). Some have suspected it would make a good rotation crop for farmers, which I tend to agree with. But, I also believe it can be a renewable and viable source of fuel for the farmers, bringing them to a more self sufficiency. Giving them the advantage of being able to go green and getting additional tax breaks for organic farming.
The idea is to raise a crop, harvest and convert to an ethonal fuel for use in the farm equipment, I have also read that it is suspected of being able to clean the soil of pollutants we as so called superior beings have posioned our world with.

I went here to try a discover the purpose of this act. It has opened a door for me to question a few concepts about our education system and the laws of the people.

1) Who has the right to take responsibility of deciding what is acceptable to learn?
2) Can our government deny people the ability to learn?
3) Should people be required to get a permit to learn about something even though others don't approve of it?
4) Can the government morally treat people like criminals for trying to disprove suspected rumors?
