This week I had my Linux Mint software seem to lock-up on me in the latest computer I recently recycled. It wasn't as bad as I had expected, the cable from my hard drive needed replaced apparently it had a few breaks that took a while to raise their evil inconvenient ideas.
So after doing the necessary repairs and few more additions like hard drives, removing a zip drive and installing a floppy drive I had it up and running. One of the hard drives I installed was in another desktop it had some bad sectors in it, I decided to test it and installed a different distribution of Linux on it. This is Debian. I have tried this before and really liked it, at the time I wasn't use to working with Linux as much. After the install I was able to set everything up, with the different packages that I enjoy using. Unfortunately the hard drive did have a few bad sectors it was failing so I had it in the final stages when it crashed.
Luckily I have another drive to install in it's place. I'm not the least bit disappointed though.
Now my Compaq Presario also had it's drive die, which I had expected to happen. But I had already replaced it with a Dell Latitude with this as it's desktop . I have to have a laptop for work installing HughesNet Satellite.
I have a Gateway with this desktop on the most used hard drive of the two.
