Just because we don't agree doesn't mean either one of us is right or wrong.
If we try your method first and it fails, then it's time to try a different method.
Education the natural process of life.
Always strive to get an education and never rely on what others consider to be an acceptable education for any aspect of your life.

I'm A Realist.

Where to begin at.
Yes, Clementine we have a drug problem in this country. From my point of view the present policies of prohibition have failed in doing what they were intended to do, and can be considered directly responsible for causing a lot of our drug problems. We actually have laws that go to extremes, there is to much control on some substances and not enough control on others.
I find it disturbing that the products we are able to legally possess and consume are by far more dangerous to the people than those that are classified as illegal. Yes, we even have a problem with people abusing the legal products.
Now the reports all vary, some even hype the situation to their side of the argument to look better for their own agenda.
We have reports of any where from
150,000-300,000 prescription drug related deaths
65,000-150,000 alcohol related deaths
100,000+ plus reports of people being mentally and physically abused by some one under the influence of alcohol
millions of dollars worth of property damages from alcohol abuse
35,000 illicit drug related deaths
less than 10,000 deaths due to drug related violence (I call it prohibition related violence)

Our government collects millions in the form of license, permit, and taxes from the alcohol industry, which by the way is the most widely recognised legal mind altering recreational product available to all the people. If the reports I have read are correct, it's apparently not the right choice for some people.
If I understand what I have read about the FDA half of their funding is provided by the pharmaceutical companies, and if the pharmaceutical companies were to have their way the taxpayers may end up paying more if not all of what the FDA needs to operate.

And to me this is even more disturbing, because not only do I consider this a conflict of interest, but I can not hold our elected officials responsible for any health problems or death of a family member who has died while abiding by the law.
It take a class action lawsuit to get any money from the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture the products we have been informed of being the right choice for everyone. But then that money is piddily doo after the lawyers get their share.

Then to make matters worse our government due to lack of respect spend billions on prohibiting the use of drugs and alcohol they don't approve of. Yes, they still chase after moonshiners only not as vigorous as they do drug dealers.

So you ask how can we justify the spending of billions on policies that have only succeeded in failing?
Or how can we continue to enforce prohibition policies when we can't even stop the abuses of the legal products?

New Government Seal

Not the math I was taught.

I read an article the other day that 45 million people in the US has a form of mental illness that wasn't treated last year. It stated we have an estimated 220 million citizens in the U.S.A.
Then I read  another article where the DEA reports that 95% of the population doesn't use drugs.
Then I read this story.

I don't see how that's possible it's not the math I was taught in school.

Neglecting my blog.

I have been negligent in keeping this blog updated. So I thought I should bring it somewhat current.
I recently posted a blog I followed on my Facebook page, and one of my FB friends posted it on reddit. Imagine my surprise when he apparently has received some threats, now I don't know if my posting his blog was the reason he received these threats, but it is uncalled for.
That said on with the intentionally misleading information.

Read this article.
