The officer in this article stated the confiscated money will be used for training and equipment and the dealers they busted are paying for it, what they seem to forget is that their tax dollars are helping pay for the incarceration and upkeep on these people. So who is actually being punished.

The value of this haul seems over rated, why would anyone want to pay over $2,000 a lb. for some Mexican weed. At best I would only pay maybe $800 for it, and if I went to Mexico I wouldn't give more than $500 a lb.

It's funny they convict a guy for possession of marijuana he states it is a religious sacrament, send him to prison. Then charge him while in prison with running a grow operation from his cell.
Apparently someone has not figured out that prohibition has failed.

Who can claim what is to be considered as abuse? Every one is affected differently by what they consume, there are people who can handled alcohol better than others while there are some who can't and it should be a crime for them to drink it.

I bet this came out of Mexico. Here's the math.
2 tons = 4,000 lbs.
US tariff of $400.00 lb. = $1,600,000
4,000 lbs = 64,000 oz.
taxed @ retailer $50.00 an oz. =$3,200,000
total revenue for the government =$4,800,000
That is 1 nice chunk of change

I get the impression these three are of hispanic descent, a possible drug cartel relocation program.

The statistics claim abused once in a year but make no mention as to how often they used in a year.
My question: If it is used once a year is that abusing it?
